Autel MaxiSys MS906 MS906BT MaxiCOM MK908 MK908P FAQ

Q: How to do after the one-year free update for MK908P / MS908P / MS908S PRO? Will it be locked?

A: You can choose to buy a one-year update service from us. If not, it will not be locked, just some online functions will be limited. For example, online coding, partly Porsche oil reset is also needed to be online. For online coding, generally for VW.

Q: I am considering purchasing the [May Sale] [US Ship] Autel MaxiCOM MK908P Full System Diagnostic with J2534 Update Online Support ECU Coding (Advanced Version Of MaxiSys MS908P) and need to know if the J2534 programming module comes with one year of support or do I need to buy the support to be able to program the modules in my BMW?

It is confusing because in the J2534 reprogramming capability section it states that both a laptop and OEM subscription are requirements and not included in this kit

A: Confirmed, yes, it supports, As long as it is in the update period.

Q:I currently own an Autel Scanner Maxisys MS906 updated to today from 2018. It's not BT. I was wondering if I purchase a J2534 can use it with? Or I need to get a newer machine? Thank you!   A: no. It can not. The J2534 can only be used with higher end units and laptops .

MS906 does not have Bluetooth built in so it cannot use any wireless VCI. When a J2534 VCI is part of an Autel kit it is used 2 ways:
1: Bluetooth communication between the Scantool and the Vehicle (Exactly the same as you wired MS906, but wireless)
2: Used as a J2534 interface using a Laptop and OEM software.

In short adding a J2534 devise to you tool does NOT add any more features/functions to your tool (unless you have a MS908/MK908 and pay to upgrade the software to the MS908P/MK908P to include Autel’s Cloud Based Programming Software, but even then you are not actually using J2534 protocols).

Q:  I wanted to know how much better is the MK908 to the MS906BT. I'm someone who works on my own cars and sometimes help a friend in need. Been wanting to step up my diag scanner for a while and I think I've narrowed it down to the 2 units I've mentioned.
My personal car is a 2007 BMW X5 4.8i,   N62 engine  5UXFE835X7LZ46101
So with that being said, just let me know what much I can do with BMW.
Lastly, with the MK908, I have to option to buy the J-2534 and it will work on the 908 vs the 906?

A: Confirmed:
Yes, MK908 supports.
906 doesn't need VCI.
Test via main cable connection directly.
