Clears the codes quick

Haven't had to use it as a code scanner yet but it’ll probably work fine.

Was able to use this to do a rear brake job on a 2019 Honda Civic Hatchback with no issues. The software put it in and out of pad replacement mode and you could hear it working - popped up a message on the screen when it was done.

This let me service my own Acura. I made new keys and registration to the car. I made new RKE and registration to the car. I diagnosed a code, made the repair and cleared the codes. My car has been running great and I haven’t been overcharged by a mechanic for a repair repair since I identify codes before service.

Was quickly able to read the Check Engine codes and determine how quickly I needed to get the issue addressed

I've had another OBD2 reader that works like this one with a phone app, but this one has so much more capability beyond just reading codes. I highly recommend it if you plan to use it for just one or two vehicles. The key fob programming alone is worth the cost. If you are a mechanic or need something to work on multiple makes of vehicles, you'd probably be better going with something a bit pricier to get these same functions, otherwise you'll be spending an extra $20 every time you get a new make.

After I took care of the fob, I kept the reader in my glove box. A couple of times it has been great to have it because I got a light on my dashboard. A tire light came on and I used the reader to show the diagnostic code, which was a TPMS sensor battery - so not an emergency requiring urgent attention, which gave me peace of mind.

I own a 2010 Hyundai Santa Fe, and used this to program a new key fob. At first, I called around to some locksmiths in my area to inquire about programming a new key fob since when I purchased my car used, the previous owner only had one. Several of them didn't even do that, and the ones that did charged from $75 - $200. The Hyundai dealership wanted $100+ just for the fob! And another $200 for programming. So I did some searching and discovered this little gem of a device. I was incredulous, but I went for it since it was less than the cost of the cheapest locksmith. I purchased an OEM fob from eBay for $20 (make sure you get one with the correct wavelength), and when the reader arrived, I registered an account and downloaded the app to my Android phone. Plugged in the device to my OBDII port on my car, and went to work. I watched a couple of Youtube videos to make sure I did it right, and it was all done within an hour or so. I was so pleased, I felt like buying a bunch of key fobs to program them all, but apparently most cars will only let you program two at a time. Oh well!

Set up is a bit complicated as you need to proceed methodically and do it where you have the vehicle and decent Internet access. Once you've linked the module to the vehicle and then the app, you'll need to download the additional data needed for your particular vehicle. In the case of Sprinter vans, that was over 800 MB of additional data! Once done, though, this provides the kind of detailed information in fault codes that specialized, expensive readers are usually needed for.

If you've used other Bluetooth dongles (e.g. BlueDriver) the experience with this adapter will be very similar. I'll outline the differences.

1. Hardware; this device powers up extremely quickly and there is basically no fuss with pairing issues or Bluetooth issues in general. Mostly just works. Other devices I've used have had issues with consistency and were much slower.

2. Software; the app is not intuitive to navigate. Some functions / PIDs are accessible in multiple different menus. You have to install two other apps to get added functionality. These apps are never actually opened but are just used in the background. Attempting to open these apps only results in a message to use the main app. The other Bluetooth scanner apps are way better.

3. Functionality; holy moly is this thing featured? You need to go to the store and claim the brand, download the other apps required, then launch them from the main app. You get one car brand for free, for life. Others after that you need to pay for and they expire. That's an insanely good deal compared to scan tools or per-VIN deals. The scanner model determines what service functions you can use (see Autel's site for a comparison between their scanners). The number of live data PIDs nearly matches the OEM scanner (in my case HDS), but not so much with the service functions.

Overall it's the best Bluetooth scanner I've used even with the app UX.

AP200 can solve several codes and the only problem is that there are modules of the car that it does not read I think the software can be fine-tuned a little more to make it more powerful.<br />
used on a 2009 honda crv and was able to register key into the immobilizer, good. couldn't get tpms registered though with a vxdas.

It works, updates expensive

Ordered this for a Mini Cooper S. Works as advertised. Easy to use with iPhone App. One vehicle free software. Shipping was quick. Used it to clear out odd O2 censor codes so I could get a new base after dealership serviced and help determine if there’s really an issue.
